THE AUDIENCE: Late 50s or early 60s?  Need to be working?Ideas for working full-time, part-time, paid or voluntary, employed or self-employed or any combination of these.

We were delighted to receive funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to produce and pilot this new programme.  For most people, retirement is no longer a fixed point in time when they simply stop working.  It is more a process of a transition to using your skills and expertise in a variety of ways.

COVID UPDATE The Covid-19 crisis impacted on our plans and this was delivered using  supported distance learning. Participants worked at home with our easy to follow resource pack and one to one support from us by phone, email or video call – their choice.  Find out what participants have said about Rethinking WorkIf you are interested in presenting this programme to your clients, please contact us.

The programme has been designed to be appropriate for those who are 55+ and:

  • now unemployed as a result of organisations downsizing or closing altogether.
  • experiencing limited options in their area of work because Covid-19 has badly affected their sector
  • doing a job that is simply too physically demanding for them to do until state pension age.
  • approaching retirement but wanting to do something completely different in future.
  • retired but need/want to consider returning to some kind of work.
