Support for City College Brighton & Hove

Chris is volunteering as one of a network of Enterprise Advisers brought together by the Coast to Capital LEP working with the Careers Company.  He is devoting the equivalent of a day a month to support the college in the development of a strategy for careers, education and employment.  He is also part of the network of Enterprise Advisers who share good practice across Brighton and West Sussex.  His role is to help the College focus their efforts on programmes and activities that are most effective in motivating young people, enabling individual choice and supporting positive outcomes for them.

Co-Chair of West Hove Infants School

After six years as governor, Chris has been co-chair of one of the largest infants’ schools in the country.  He continues to support a school that has two sites and is adjusting to the challenges of coping with a diverse range of children with very different needs.  A very recent inspection for the Inclusion Quality Mark commented that “West Hove Infants School is a school where every child feels special.  The efforts of staff are inspirational in their aim of ensuring that every child reaches their full potential”.

Walking for Health

Maureen, who is based in Dorset, supports her local accredited Walking for Health group by using her IT and authoring skills to update the national database and website, keep track of statistics and produce regular newsletters. The group supports in excess of 150 regular walkers.
