UoS Employer Engagement

We were delighted to work with staff in the School of Business, Management and Economics (BMEC) and the Careers and Employability Centre at the University of Sussex to support their delivery of a professional placement programme for undergraduates for 2013/14. All BMEC courses include the development of professional business skills to prepare students for work. We engaged with employers to establish one-year placements for University of Sussex Undergraduates at the end of the second year of their degree. After their one year placements they return to the University of Sussex to complete their degree.

Employers are thus able to take advantage of the up-to-date skills and knowledge of these talented people to work on specific projects. The placements enable employers to access high levels of expertise for a year without the commitment of creating a more permanent post. Some employers will be taking advantage of the opportunity to create a rolling placement so that they can continue to have access to the skills of University of Sussex students.

Our Associates at Fresh Ambition worked with us to help us make sure that all the students on the programme were able to gain a professional paid placement.
