Brighton based help with finding work and training or retraining

UoS Prep for employment

During 2015 we worked with The School of Business Management and Economics (BMEC) at the University of Sussex to provide extra support for students seeking placements.  This is in addition to the excellent support that students already receive from staff within BMEC and the Careers and Employability Centre and is helping to make sure that all students can get as much advice as they need.

This initiative is partly supported by a Regional Growth Fund partnership led by Brighton & Hove City Council.

Work & Learning Opportunities will be continuing this work into the 2014/15 academic year.

We’re providing individual and workshop support for students who will be undertaking one year professional placements alongside their academic study. We’re helping to make sure that they are well-prepared for the world of work when applying for placements in the current very competitive environment.

“Really helpful meeting. I just wanted to take the time to thank you. I got some really good insight on how to polish up my CV. I also have a better understanding of where to look for placements that are right for me. Lynne is really great at what she does and I wanted to take the time to endorse her.”

“I had my CV appointment today and just wanted to let you know how useful I found the session – really nice and gave me some really good advice about how to improve it and how to stand out in any interviews. I’ll definitely recommend it to anyone else planning to do a placement.”
